Please see below regarding issues with moving files on Oscar.
What’s the issue:
Users will see an “Operation Not Permitted” error when they use the “mv” command to move files or directories between two of the following directories.

Home (
/oscar/home/<username>/) -
Scratch (
/oscar/scratch/<username>/) -
Data (
/oscar/data/<PI_group>/<username>/)
The error will not occur when moving files within the Home/Scratch/Data directory.
Instructions for Users:

Please use the “
cp” command to copy files instead of the “mv” command -
Please use the “
rm” command to remove files.
